As the years go by, our bodies’ tissues change and lose their tautness and elasticity. The first signs of ageing show up shortly after, as small wrinkles develop and the skin begins to look slack and worn-down. As a result, many people opt for a gentle anti-ageing treatment to return a sense of radiance and freshness to their skin – without the need for surgical procedures.

With microneedling, Central Aesthetics provides a delicate treatment to rejuvenate the skin. In this procedure, we use fine needles to exact micro-injuries on the skin, thereby stimulating its in-built regeneration function. As a result, the skin renews itself from within – without any surgery or applications which might irritate the skin.

Microneedling is an effective procedure that allows us to treat an array of skin conditions and correct blemishes in patients’ complexions. Not only is microneedling a gentle anti-ageing procedure, it's also an effective treatment to improve the appearance of scars. Our patients benefit from a fresh, radiant appearance and often enjoy a new sense of self-confidence as a result.

Frequently asked questions on microneedling

Microneedling – also known as medical needling – is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin, and allows us to improve a patient’s complexion while being kind to their skin. By subjecting the upper layers of the skin to tiny injuries, we activate the body’s own collagen production process. The skin regains its natural freshness and tautness, and the first small wrinkles and uneven areas are smoothed out.

Here at Central Aesthetics, we use microneedling to reduce the first signs of ageing and enhance the general complexion of the skin. As this treatment triggers skin regeneration from within, it can also improve the appearance of other irregularities such as scars.

Microneedling is suitable for all patients who want to combat the first signs of ageing in a gentle way. It’s also particularly well suited to treating skin blemishes and irregularities. In this treatment, we achieve a natural anti-ageing effect without the need for surgery or substances which could irritate the skin.

We primarily use microneedling to rejuvenate skin in the face, neck and décolleté – though it can also enhance the complexion of skin in other areas of the body. We would be happy to provide you with a personal consultation on whether and how medical needling can be used to achieve your desired results.

We predominantly use microneedling to return a youthful vigour and freshness to slackened, aged skin. The treatment is used in particular on the face, décolleté and neck areas. As medical needling causes the skin to regenerate itself from within, it can also successfully treat scars.

Before the microneedling procedure, you’ll receive an in-depth personal consultation in our practice. Your therapist will provide you with comprehensive information on the procedure, as well as the prospects and risks involved.

To prepare the skin for microneedling, we start by cleansing the skin and treating it with special care products. The subsequent needling procedure then allows the vitamins and antioxidants in these products to penetrate deep into the skin. The gentle nature of this treatment means that no anaesthesia or numbing is required.

Here at Central Aesthetics, we use a needling pen fitted with very fine needles to carry out medical needling treatments. The needles penetrate vertically into the skin to the desired depth, exacting fine micro-injuries without irritating the surface of the skin. These tiny injuries trigger the body’s own regeneration processes, which ultimately provides the desired skin-rejuvenating effect.

Following the needling itself, the skin is treated with a cooling, soothing facial mask. You can then leave the practice immediately without the need for a further stay. The skin tissue will then gradually begin to heal, rebuild and regenerate itself. The final results of the treatment can then be seen after some 3–4 months.

Several sessions are usually a prudent way to achieve an optimal rejuvenating effect. However, precisely how often medical needling should be carried out varies from one patient to the next. Your therapist will ask about your desired results before carrying out the procedure, and will work with you to create a detailed treatment plan.

Medical needling is a very gentle treatment in which we use extremely fine needles. The vast majority of our patients don’t consider the treatment to be at all unpleasant. As a result, no anaesthetic is required.

When carried out properly by a professional, microneedling is a very safe, gentle procedure. Slight bruising and redness can appear in the treated areas after needling, though this is only temporary. Such symptoms usually fade away within a day at most.

To prevent hyperpigmentation and the formation of scars, you should observe a few important pieces of advice for after a needling treatment. You should avoid sunbathing, swimming pools and exercise for a short period after the procedure. It’s also important to wait a week until you start to use creams and applications containing fruit acids. Of course, your practitioner will provide more detailed aftercare information.

Medical needling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment which we perform on an outpatient basis. You can return home straight after the needling procedure, and will be socially presentable straight away. The treatment is neither painful nor associated with the risks of a surgical procedure.

The potential risks and side effects involved in microneedling are very minor. Hyperpigmentation and scarring occur less often than in other minimally invasive forms of treatment. When carried out professionally and with diligent aftercare by the patient themselves, the risk of such complications is extremely low.

At Central Aesthetics, we offer microneedling treatments from €180 per session. The exact cost may vary somewhat depending on the complexity involved and your desired results. We will provide you with precise information on treatment costs in a personal consultation appointment.
